- Great hub that adds much needed ports
- Matches the looks of the Mac Mini (not a perfect match, but the differences aren't too noticeable unless you're really up close)
- No extra cable and power brick needed for external power. Everything works off a single cable plugged into the Mac Mini
- NVME slot is perfect for Time Machine backups. Bonus, I finally found a use for the NVME drive from my Steam Deck (with adapter).
Cons:
- Setting the Mac Mini on top of this hub essentially cuts off the wifi. I believe the wifi module is physically located on the back, bottom part of the Mac Mini and is likely being blocked by this hub. It's obviously the hub since lifting the Mac Mini instantly restores my wifi connection.
- "Fix": I bought a wooden frame to act as a spacer between the Mac Mini and the hub (see picture). That little bit of separation restored my wifi connection. There may still be some signal attenuation, but it's not noticeable to me. Also, the wooden frame is supposed to help with ventilation and adds to the overall aesthetic. Since I was going to buy it anyway, I consider that a "fix" for the wifi issue.
Hope this helps someone else with wifi problems.

My main quibble is that if my Mac Mini goes to sleep, when I wake it, the SSD doesn't mount. I'm met with an error notification that I didn't eject the disk properly and I can't find the SSD on the desktop or in finder. A restart of the whole system fixes this, but it's annoying that it happens - and I can't say for sure if that's a Satechi problem or an Apple problem, but I'm starting to wonder if I should have skipped this device and gotten a vertical hub and separate SSD.

As well as the NVME slot, the unit has a 10 GB/s usb-c port, a (claimed) 10GB/s usb-a port and 2 5GB/s usb-a ports
I guess I would have traded one of the 5GB/s usb-a ports for a second usb-c port, but a minor issue.
It has a headphone port which I didn’t get to work, but didn’t troubleshoot since I use airpods anyway
Finally, it has 2 SD card slots, one for full size cards and one for micro cards. These work flawlessly
For less than $125 CAD, this a great enhancement for a Mac mini. Since it works as a stand for the Mac, it doesn’t take up any additional desk space. As well all the ports are accessible from the front; only the USB-C connection to the Mac is on the back
For the price and features this is an excellent addition for a M2 Mac Mini
