Gasket did not fit correctly

The original gasket had about a 3/4" piece on the floor of the dishwasher, then it turned 90 degrees and fit into the channel around the door opening and extended all around the opening and had another 3/4" piece on the other side. These extended pieces seal the bottom of the door. The replacement gasket was not long enough to fill these extra spaces and when I installed it, it leaked on both sides of the door. I cut off a 3" piece from the old gasket and used it to make the gasket on one side fit. The original gasket had a small fin to help hold it into the channel and the new one does not have this so it keeps coming out. I have had to order a new gasket because this one will not stay in the door.

This Gasket was very easy to install. However, the Dishwasher leaked about three times more water than it did with the old Gasket. I cleaned up the old Gasket and reinstalled it. Now it's not leaking at all. Lesson learned. If the old Gasket is not damaged or torn, Try cleaning it thoroughly. That may solve your problem.
