I have an older dishwasher that was hardwired into the switch under the sink- just the wires coming in and attached much like a light fixture behind a cover plate in the front. My new bosch dishwasher doesn’t connect that way and doesn’t come with this adapter. Furthermore the installation crew won’t wire this up. So I ordered and connected this part myself. It was a little finicky to get the still wires fed into the right position due to the closeness / small clearance but doable and solved my problem. Seems well made and was the part I needed.

Ordering from Amazon was about $10 more than ordering it online from Home Depot. When I bought my dishwasher I didn't know I would need this, so I didn't add it on to my purchase and then it was too late afterwards. If I ordered it online with HD after my appliance purchase I would not have gotten it in time for my dishwasher intall and HD didn't carry it in store, so I ordered from Amazon with the prime shipping and even though it was $10 more, it was worth paying the extra $$ to buy from Amazon. Amazon prime shipping saves the day yet again!

item. We purchased it from Amazon because I could get it the next day AND an outlet store that sold Bosch had none in stock. Kind of a necessary item to keep in stock. Anyways, received the item and installation was a breeze. Just take into account the width of the box if you install it behind the dishwasher. I had no issues but depends on your set up.

Overall, this one is easy to install, the box is thick, the connectors are solid. My main complaint is the length of the power cord. It should be at least 1-2 ft longer! Bosch recommends to install this box in the cabinet adjacent to the dishwasher. In my case my only option was to put it on the left side of the dishwasher and only at the top of this cabinet, almost at the level of the top of the dishwasher. The socket is on another side of the dishwasher. I have installed the box literally next to the cabinet wall and I could barely plug the connector in the socket and secure it in the middle of the dishwasher's bottom. So, if you are in the similar situation, consider other options, maybe GFCI outlet is better (not to mention that the regular power cord is included with the dishwasher ;) ).
