As a lifelong Tim Burton fan, the arrival of this book put a smile on my face. The book very closely resembles the one of the Beetlejuice film. It is not flimsy, but has a substantial spine with printed title. Perfect gag book for coffee tables and bookshelves. It has an attached ribbon bookmark, but I tucked mine into the spines binding for a more authentic appearance.The blank pages allow it to be used as a journal or sketch book, so it would be perfect for Burton fans who like to exercise their creative bones. So happy to have found and purchased this item!

We had a halloween movie day at work and I was in charge of beetlejuice. The number one first thing I wanted was the infamous "Handbook for the Recently Deceased". I had less than 2 weeks to prepare and I searched....I found some options that I almost bought but after looking closer I found that they were smaller versions both in dimension (one would fit in a small women's purse) and most were only 50 pages or so which was not what I was hoping to find. I saw this option and bought 2. They arrived and are basically the right size and page amount to look like the movie. Very well done - there is no info from the book inside like the resurrection poem nor the small quotes which is fine cause I was looking for something that just looked like the real thing....it would be a nice addition if they could add the publishing page and a few pages of content but overall that is getting pretty picky considering other options are just not accurate or are not as easy to get....I like that the pages are blank and not lined...overall I recommend this and have no problem saying if you want an accurate looking book that will right away be recognized as a legit handbook for the recently deceased - then you'll be safe with this option 100%

This book looks so awesome! I had it out as part of my Halloween decor and it got great compliments. I love it so much that I wanted to keep it out all year long, but I have 3 kids and I can see it getting destroyed so I packed it up with the rest of my Halloween decor. Keep in mind that this is a journal, but it's one of the few I found where the pages didn't have any lines and the cover corners aren't rounded. It's really the best book I found that comes to looking identical to movie prop. The wait time is a bit longer, but I did receive it before the estimate delivery date and totally worth the wait.

Looks exactly the prop from the movie. Betelguese fans will love it. The only downside is that all pages are blank, they could've t least put a little something in the book, I feel; a few pages worth anyway.. maybe stills from the movie? Ah well.
More importantly however, the binding is on the weak side, you have to handle this with kid gloves, you can't just rip it open forcefully.. if you leave it on your coffee table at a Halloween party, pray nobody whose had a few doesn't handle it too roughly.
So, 1 point deducted for those things.

This is definitely a nice version, and I think great if you want to use it as a prop. It is not huge, probably similar to a medium-sized hard cover novel. Cleanly built, as advertised.

Not a criticism, but I kind of wish that the inside was printed with something and not just blank. I would have laughed my butt off if it was nothing but old stereo instructions on every page.

This is a really nice, hard cover version of the original prop from Beetlejuice. The pages are blank, so you can use it as a journal if you wanted to. We bought it as part of our Halloween costume and it is going to work perfectly. For now, it is sitting on our coffee table as a Halloween decoration/coffee table book.
