Our auto-swing air vent technology makes sure you enjoy every bit of cool air by circulating the cool air more efficiently so no hot spot will be left untouched. The auto evaporation system allows for continuous use and with the programmable 24-hour on/off timer, you can control the temperature even when you’re not there.

In October 2017, the Department of Energy implemented a new test procedure to determine the BTU rating of portable air conditioners. The procedural change has adjusted the amount of BTUs allowed to be claimed downward by as much as 50%. There have been no internal changes to these units, and the functionality remains the same. Please refer to room size guidelines to find the portable air conditioner that best meets your needs.

Works well. We have had this setup for a few months now. We used a dryer vent to pipe the hot air out of the house instead of using the supplied window vents to enable us to leave the units in place during winter.

First thing, it is expensive to run. If you plan on using it for 8 hours a day, expect your electric bill to jump $100 a month.
That being said, it does a great job cooling down a small room (needed it because my PC was heating room to crazy temperatures). Only issue with installation was the lip of my window forced the exhaust to sit at an angle. Made it difficult to get an airtight seal (will remedy this soon by cutting a piece of 1x1 and placing it at the bottom of the window, which will give it enough height to sit evenly).

The unit also looks nice, not the bright white that others tend to feature. Overall I am extremely happy with the purchase. Worth every penny. If you don't mind the look of a window unit (or your homeowners allows them) they are more efficient and cheaper to run. If you're like me (hate the look of window units and aren't allowed to install them) then this is the way to go.

I've been trying to get one of these locally from HD but since Hurricane Dorian, they have been out of them. Got this one and it arrived in a couple of days, undamaged and for a few dollars less than HD. I opened it up right away to make sure it wasn't damaged and that it worked properly. It was in perfect condition and worked perfectly as well. I got to use my dad's LG last time we lost power due to a hurricane and it did great, but I wanted my own especially for my wife. Of course we already have a decent generator to run it but not big enough to run our central HVAC system.

This unit works great for a small room obviously-
Few things to consider before buying. If you like to move the unit around you either need longer exhaust or the extension for it which needs to be purchased separately. The power cord is very short as well so extension cord as well. Main thing I don't like about this unit is that the swing technology on it is not so smart as it just goes up and down in a bit short movements, and no left to right, so it doesn't work as efficient as it should for higher celling.
It is very loud even tho filter has been clean once every other day.
Maybe I have a defective unit but this thing is loud and rattles. Girlfriend is always turning it off due to the sound.
I gave it 4star because it does cool the room other then that maybe 2** would be ok.
Overall I wouldn't buy this or recommend this units to anyone.

Word of caution- LG makes the process of repairing a lemon of a machine an absolute nightmare. I have had the machine for 6 weeks and have not been able to use it yet! It arrived with a broken front panel but the box was totally fine so I called the 1-800 number on the front of the machine. They advised me not to use it and three phone calls later finally sent a technician. He repaired the front then suggested that we try using it while he was there. Upon turning it on the compressor would not work then when it finally kicked in 5 minutes into running the machine it froze up and blew the circuit in my house. I called LG again and they said that the technician would have to deem it not usable and that they would call him then get back to me - guess what.... they did not call me back. (BIG SURPRISE) - another phone call today and they are now saying they need to send a compressor technician out but he can't come for a week. I asked why can't you just send me a new one -it's been six weeks of ridiculousness - the customer service representative said he could not until the compressor technician says it is unrepairable. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY - LG UNWILLING TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS. An absolute shame because I used to like their products.

After doing some research, I decided to go with this LG AC over comparable brands like Honeywell. I'm glad I did. This unit cools our fairly large master bedroom efficiently and quickly. It doesn't run silently of course, but I have no problem sleeping with some white noise.

As for the 1-star reviews of this product: mine did not arrived damaged. That sounds like a problem with the shipper and not the product itself. I also have no problems with the hose and window vent.

My only advice: make sure the room you're plugging this into has a circuit breaker that can handle the 12,000 BTU. I didn't think about this until my roommate tripped a breaker with his 15,000 BTU Honeywell AC. Luckily mine works without a hitch!

to me, this unit seems unreasonably noisy. noise level aside, the product seems to have good features and benefits, although "swing" (which directs the vents to cycle up/down) seems to start and stop without explanation ... maybe it's tied to when the condenser is running?

the unit seems to be in decent working order, although (again) very loud ... but was scratched in several places. also, some of the accessories seemed to be worn and/or used previously. there are several reasons i believe that i'm not the first person to have received this exact unit.

the remote's display is large and it had good, albeuit sometimes non-responsive, functionality but the buttons are not clearly labeled. I think it would be better if the buttons' labels were above the buttons instead of below and maybe if the font were a little larger. the remote did come with batteries (2 AAA) which is always nice. the window kit seems complete.

this is my first free standing a/c unit, so i'm not certain if i'm expecting too much ... but will do some recon to figure it out and will update.

Seems to work very well . Kudos to LG for making a darker colored unit with simple clean lines. Not every air conditioner needs to be big, white and clunky. Make sure the outlet you plan to plug the unit into can handle the amps. Unfortunately our older house couldn't. Luckily an electrician was able to wire dedicated circuits for this and another unit we purchased. (so don't freak out if you plug it in and it trips the circuit). So nit picky but I wish the remote was also in the same color as the unit. Overall I am happy so far with the purchase.

I would love to of had the opportunity to rate this product as well to have had the use if this product during a very hot summer and now with the flash fire state of emercency in our province but Amazon sent me the wrong air conditioner. One that was so small it would t have kept a room cool never mind my apartment. I was deaply dissapointed and have suffered. Also my telephone bill was very expensive trying to get it returned. Just terrible!

Ive had this ac for a couple months now and while it has worked great so far as to the response of the remote, the accuracy of the temp. Selected and the sound output being not as bad as the reviews say.

This past week the performance has dropped. Before when i set it to 18°c it would cool my room down within minutes (room is 220 sq. Ft.) Now i have to set it to 16°c and it takes about an hour to reach the same results.
