This product is so well made. It is easy to put on because it fastens with Velcro just above the left shoulder. It helps my disabled husband eat in his chair as it catches spills and they do not soak through onto his clothes. It even has a pocket at the bottom to catch crumbs. It washes well. I hang it to dry but it states you can place it in the dryer.

Lots of bibs out there. In choosing one for a disabled family member, one has a number of considerations.

We've tried others, but this one has the easy to use/adjust hook-and-loop closure, is actually a nice attractive color, has the crumb catcher pouch on the bottom, and offers great protection from fluids and oils. Also easier to clean than others we've tried.

Easy is good. I like easy. When you're a caregiver a little bit of easy goes a long way.

So good that we bought a second one to have on hand when one is in the laundry.

I had some inexpensive terry-cloth bibs in the past. This is much better..The velcro closure is much more secure. Terry-cloth just absorbed stains. The 65% polyester and 35% cotton fabric does not. The lining is 100 DuPont Supplex nylon. The small pouch at the bottom can be used to keep some silverware or napkins, which I like. The bib is longer than my old ones, which I also like. I'm undecided about the closure being off-center. It could make it easier to put the bib on someone else, but not so easy to put it on myself. Highly recommended.

Wish I'd Bought These Sooner

Update (Dec 2, 2019): So it's been a little under a year and a half, and the bibs are still going strong with daily use and cleaning (using the method described below). Their color has become dull, and the crumb pockets have become sad and droopy, but the bib fabric and water-resistant backing have held up fantastic (no rips, etc). The Velcro that holds these bibs on your person has worn out though so they barely stick (on both bibs that we have). And on one of the bibs, the threads holding the Velcro to the bib have started to come apart. Not a big deal though: I should be able to replace the Velcro on both bibs even with my limited sewing ability. These bibs are an absolute tremendous value, and I continue to highly recommend them.

Original review: These bibs are some of the best purchases I've ever made. Bought them for my handicapped dad who's a very messy eater. For years we've either gone without any kind of bib or with homemade bibs using some clips, twine, and regular terry towels. Unfortunately, this lead to routine nightmares come laundry time since the thick, caked-on food had to be peeled off his clothes and towels before throwing them in the washer (otherwise you'd wind up with food particles all over everything else).

For the longest time, I didn't bother looking into real bibs solely because I assumed I'd run into the same problem of having to peel off caked-on food from them before throwing them in the wash. But that's not the case with these bibs at all. The bib's fabric is absorbent enough to hold spilled food and liquid in place (so they don't run onto pants or the floor like with plastic bibs), but the fabric is also slick enough to where even dried food comes off easily with water (and doesn't leave stains).

My preferred method of cleaning these bibs is to hang them in the back of the shower, and just hit them with pulsing hot water from my handheld shower head. Even with caked-on food, it only takes about a minute for all of the debris to wash/slide off the bibs. Moreover, these bibs are so thin that if left hanging, they'll literally be completely dry within 6-8 hours (don't worry about their thinness as the back of the bibs have a plastic lining to prevent food from seeping through). Then maybe once every month, I throw the rinsed off bibs in the washing machine to get them truly clean and smelling fresh.

I love these bibs, and I highly recommend them. They'll save you lots of time and your sanity.
