Our Brother printer at work was producing a quarter inch black band on the left side of every printed page and a small dot about every 1.75 inches on the middle of every page.

After researching the issue it was either the drum(s) or the roller. I purchased both, replaced each of the drums, and the issues were resolved.

We replace the toner about 3-4 times a year, it seems that we will also need to replace the drum for each of the colors around once a year...not too bad for a printer costing less than $500.00.
