Installed easy about 1.5 hour job. Here's a rough guide to help you decide if you want to put them on yourself.
Tools needed
Flathead screw driver,15 mm,9mm, 18mm, 3/4 wrenches, 6mm Allen wrench, 22mm 15mm sockets,,extentions and rachets. A jack really helps to unload the front to make the job easier, just make sure you lift the frame not the axle.
On the passenger side Take the airintake off to the turbo, undo the three shock tower nuts, the bolt through the bottom through the hole in the spring mount, there's no nut to worry about. pull out the shock and tower out in one unit, it is easier to take off the upper mount nut off with the shock out.
Driver side Take the upper mount nut off first, then the lower, then the three tower nuts you can pull the tower over and up above the fuel filter housing then you can take the shock strait up. To install you just basically reverse the steps, it helps to have a piece of 1.5 inch pvc pipe about 2 foot long to push the tower down with the new shocks. Hope this helps someone.
I had trouble choosing between all the brands; one reviewer claimed to have been through Rancho's Monroe's, and KYB's with a similar vehicle and claimed all to be crap. Some folks had good things to say about the Rancho 9k's; another claimed they crapped out a year later; call me crazy, but the name "Rancho" sounds like Mexican garbage....I don't like it, and they've got that stupid white with red boot going on....I don't like it. Bilstein now...that's got to be German...the box showed up. I pulled out the install guide; German as fcuk. Stainless steel body just spoke to me, and once in hand they felt....German. I've heard the name growing up in tuner magazines, Bilstein just connected; first simile to come to mind is "bolster" yeah that sounds right. Better than "Crapos" or "mundane Monroe". I believe KYB would have been my next choice, but these were out for a good price and German. I've driven and own German cars, if one thing they get right is suspension...so I have faith in them. I've also driven domestics... Total crap. Not that I prefer a Kia, but a Dodge Caliber vs a Mini Cooper is like a Soap Box vs Roll Royce. In fact my Dodge is due to be superceded by a Mercedes Sprinter. Wish domestic truck manufactures would catch on to overseas production and give us more low displacement diesels; claim there's no market for it, you can't sell it if it's not on the shelf. Then they sell it way overpriced.
Germany...Germany knows what they're doing. The shocks read "assembled in USA" so I'm still supporting our robots. Until the dems stop taxing the rich, we will never be industrious. Plus kids are lazy again.
