The production by Joe Walsh is terrific, there's just a touch of "Hotel California" slide-guitar sound, without being overly done. Walsh mainly lets Fogelberg and the other musicians (who are also outstanding) shine in a very natural, real sense; this is not at all overly layered or gimmicked-up. My favorite track here is "As the raven flies", and "Morning sky" is another standout, but all of the songs are strong (save for the above-mentioned "Someone's been..."), and fit very well together.
Getting back to what I easily consider to be Dan's best 3 albums, "Souvenirs" has what I'd consider to be his signature sound, and it's certainly one of his best ever. On the other hand, "Nether Lands" has no weak tracks, flows well, is loaded with incredible lyrics and music - if had had to decide on only one, I suppose it would be my top choice in a very close race. But "Nether Lands" has a different sound than the typical Fogelberg album - quite a bit of lush orchestration and wonderful instrumentation that departs from the standard "country/folk/pop" sound that I associate with Fogelberg. "Souvenirs" has more of a live folk/pop concert sound vs. the lushly beautiful orchestration of "Nether Lands". Dan's first album "Home Free" is very spare and intense; sounds almost as if he were playing all the instruments himself. "Home Free" is a little spotty (many tracks soar with his very best - especially the opening song, others are slightly weak) but is also not to be missed. "Souvenirs" though is to me most representative of DF's very best work; it's a "must have" for even casual fans.

Brani molto belli come ad esempio "As The Raven Flies", "(Someone's Been) Telling You Stories" e la bellissima "There's a Place In The World For a Gambler".
