Editorial Reviews

Product Description

Remastered from original masters and new 12-page booklet that contains new photos, new liner notes. The set is packaged in a digipak. Previously unreleased bonus tracks recorded live December 18, 1976 by King Biscuit Flower Hour at the Spectrum in Philadelphia, PA. Live tracks produced by Boston. Mixed in 2006 by Niko Bolas. 'Boston' is the self-titled debut album by American rock band Boston, released in 1976. The album broke the band into the mainstream, with several blockbuster hard rock hits.

"Better music through science" was the Epic Records-coined slogan that Boston leader Tom Scholz hated, but this masterwork of studio-happy, high-school-parking-lot music earned it. Scholz fine-tuned his overdubbed guitar orchestra to a pitch that a thousand subsequent album-rockers couldn't resist. And why should they? Where the band's later records were hardly worthy of note, Boston pulls together classic after classic: "More Than a Feeling," "Peace of Mind," "Hitch a Ride." The pseudo-cosmic ambience invites scoffs as the year 2000 recedes into the past, but it's really just part of the disc's charm. Let it take you home tonight. --Rickey Wright

It's more than a crappy feeling to be told it's no longer available to prime members... but THIS ALBUM IS SO WORTH EVERY DIME!

It's more than a crappy feeling to be told it's no longer available to prime members... but THIS ALBUM IS SO WORTH EVERY DIME!
This was the beginning of the struggle for two guys that just wanted to ROCK! 17 million copies later, it's still considered a National Treasure. And it's very close to my heart, Brad never had a singing lesson in his life and yet he could sing with amazing breath control and imitate any vocalist he chose, just check out Brad Delp Beatlejuice on youtube for an example if that versatility. He was an amazing human being!!I Love You Brad ~ Cya on the other side!!My question for AMAZON is this; until Tom announced the anniversary tour, this album was included with the 100.00 a year Prime Membership, now all of a sudden, it's $7.99. It's not so important to me as I own copies if this, DON'T LOOK BACK, THIRD STAGE and GREATEST HITS but the demo tapes and unreleased songs by Brad & Tom but, it's unfair to the folks out there that pay 100.00 annually like myself, to have this in their mist favorite playlists only to pull up their favorite BOSTON songs and get a notice: this song us no longer available on Prime, would you like to delete this item?Woweee... greedy much? I wonder, is this Tom or Amazon at work here?
