A New Oxygen Sensor Impacts Your Car!

|
---|---|---|---|
A defective or sluggish oxygen sensor can cause a variety of issues, like decreased engine performance. Replacing a defective O2 sensor helps ensure your engine is constantly monitored and operating efficiently, while maximizing performance. |
The ideal air-fuel ratio of a gasoline engine is 14.7 parts air to 1 part fuel, which is known as complete combustion. The vehicle's engine control unit uses an O2 sensor to regulate air-fuel mixture by checking the oxygen content in a vehicle’s exhaust. This results in fuel savings. |
The catalytic converter is responsible for removing the harmful emissions from your vehicle’s exhaust. A defective oxygen sensor can cause your catalytic converter to fail prematurely. Replacing a catalytic converter can cost thousands of dollars, significantly more than most standard oxygen sensor replacements. |
If complete combustion is not maintained, other chemical compounds can form in large amounts. These include greenhouse gases, carbon monoxide and excess hydrocarbons. Replacing a defective oxygen sensor is the most effective way to control the combustion process and reduce emissions. |
Product Description
Every Bosch Oxygen Sensor benefits from the technological and manufacturing experience gained from decades of production, since first inventing the Oxygen Sensor in the late 1960's, ensuring long-lasting, superior performance that you can count on. Bosch Oxygen sensors are 100% tested for full functionality, resulting in a seared appearance of the protection tube, to ensure every Bosch manufactured sensor meets Bosch's rigorous standards for quality and performance. Exclusive double laser-welded stainless steel body is totally submersible and sealed tight to protect against contamination from exhaust emissions — ensuring a longer sensor service life. Fast-acting heater optimizes sensor operation on Planar and 3, 4, and 5 wire Thimble type sensors allowing the oxygen sensor to reach its operating temperature quicker – within seconds – for optimum performance. True Direct-fit OE connectors and harnesses, along with threads pre-coated with anti-seize compound right out of the box, make installation simple and hassle-free. It’s critical that oxygen sensors are replaced at the suggested intervals provided by vehicle manufacturers before the sensor fails. Following the recommendations will prevent long term damage to a vehicle’s engine, reduce harmful carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and save money when refueling your vehicle.

This new O2 sensor has improved my mpg to where it should be, and has prevented the Jeep from running rich, which has in turn made my ride smoother. No check engine light came on, so you have keep an eye on your fuel consumption. The average life span of an O2 sensor is 80,000 to 100,000 miles.
Installation was less that 20 minutes. I used a 22 wrench and a rubber hammer–in some cases it'll come right out with some elbow grease.
I had never installed a oxygen sensor before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I do most of my own auto repair work but I'm not a professional. But installation is very simple and can be done by anyone with half an hour of free time. If you have an oxygen sensor removal tool its very simple but there is a way around it. With a hammer break off the old housing, this will leave a perfect 6 point hex to ratchet out of the exhaust pipe. After its out the Bosch one will simply wrench into the existing hole.
It's such a simple job and many mechanics will go over the top (my mechanic said he'd do it for $200, but warned me after we agreed on a price that sometimes the sensor "breaks" it becomes a five hour job). So if you're mechanically inclined go for it, once you perform it once you'll never need to have a mechanic do it.
**Overall great product works well even a year later and comes with anti seize applied to ensure it won't seize up on you later down the road.
This sensor is inexpensively priced, good quality , go for it!
