I think I read about this litter box in New York Times Wirecutter column. I've had anywhere from two (now) to nine cats, inside and outside, for the last fifty years. Having to deal with the litter box is the price you pay for the company of these lovable, cantankerous, moody, affectionate, obnoxious, adorable creatures. Like all of God's creatures, cats poop.
The Modkat Flip has features that correct some of the most annoying things about regular litter boxes. It has very tall sides, so the kitties can't kick litter out of the box. The entrance is also high, so they track some litter out, but less than with a regular box. It's covered, but as I said, the sides are tall, so it's not like kitty is crawling into a cave-- more like a small room. The top flips completely back in two stages, so there's easy access for scooping. The box comes with a liner that you hang from the inner walls of the box, I didn't use it at first because I thought it would make a crinkly sound that would bother the cats. But now I do use it and they're fine with it. should make cleaning much easier. There's a little charcoal deodorizer baggie thing that fits into the lid of the box (you can see it in the picture), but frankly, I doubt if it really does much good.
This is a great product that every cat owner needs.
