I ordered this GHD straightener direct from Amazon in December 2015 and it broke down this April 2017. GHD has a 24 month warranty for this model so I was happy. That is, until I tried to contact GHD and realised that like several reviewers, there was no holographic serial number on my unit.I contacted Amazon about the issue and was told that it had passed the 30 day return period. I was also reminded I was complaining about a product which had worked for a year. I was basically being told that I should be happy it worked for 1 year, despite the product having a 2 year warranty period. Such a shocking lack of empathy from an Amazon customer service representative.So while I blame myself for not checking the serial number and I understand policies are in place to prevent exploitation, I am also appalled that Amazon doesn't verify the origins of its products more stringently. Other negative reviews run as far back as December 2015 - unfortunately only after I had made my purchase.The Amazon rep said this issue would be investigated, however he did not ask me for any pictures of my GHD. Therefore I have attached pictures for reference.That being said, the product worked well and I will be purchasing my replacement directly from GHD instead of Amazon.

Recommended by my hairdresser who is Sassoon trained and this is the exact one she uses. Wonderfully fast heat up. I do wish it had adjustable heat, but it is very effective and well made. Like someone else said in his/her review, very hot so be sure to use a heat protectant product with it and keep the iron moving through your hair. I had mine for two and a half years, but I dropped many, many times on a cement floor and it finally broke. BTW insurance doesn’t cover dropping repairs or replacement 😉. Buying my second ghd 2” flat iron today. Can’t beat Amazon Prime’s fast delivery.

My sister has been using GHD's for over 6 years now. She always likes to play with my hair, I'm too lazy to do it because I have thick frizzy hair. Last time she used a Gold model and it was fast (either this one or the 1 inch) so I decided to buy a GHD gold since I really like the results.

Efficient product: I think one reviewer said it took them 10 mins and I didn't believe it, but I saw it for myself, it took me slightly more than that, thick frizzy hair or an almost first time straightener user, not bad at all. The width of the plate makes the difference I think.

Pricing: The price is unbeatable after I checked a few other places.

Pseudo-con: The place of the on/off button is not in the best location (on the inside of the appliance) but this is the only con which is not a big deal since it's a hot appliance and extra care has to be exercised at all times anyway regardless of where the button is placed.

Only problem for me is that it costs about 200-300 or more depending on what size/type you get. I was beyond excited to see the discount price on here and purchased it immediately. Quick delivery. Best flat iron ever! Ghd, by far, is the best brand. There is nothing like it. I own a few and each one works like a pro. No tugging on hair, no burning, and no catching hair. Leaves hair smooth & frizz free with one pass. This is my first 2" styler and I like it even better than the 1" as it holds more hair. My hair is long and fine but this works great. The less passes on your hair, the less damage that is done. I live in Florida, and since I've started using Ghd, I no longer have any frizz! Love these products.

Quick to heat up, easy to use, 2 inch version means I can straighten my hair so quickly, the plates don’t pull on your hair (or split ends) so it’s better for you hair. My other pair are 11 years old and still working, the only reason I bought these was because I moved to North America and the early versions aren’t compatible with the voltage here.
