The record gives great performance at high and low ends on my setup - my neighbors probably thought there was a drum circle in my living room earlier today when I was playing it as loud as I was. Of course, your system will determine what you hear, but this has everything in the mix so the better your system, the better it will sound.
The packaging is quality as well - the only downside being, if you're an extreme audiophile, that the sleeves are cardboard. They have great artwork on them and are much easier to slide in and out of the gatefold pockets but if you prefer to handle your records with the utmost care, you'll want to replace them with sleeves that won't potentially scratch the surface of the records. And trust me, you'll want to play these a lot! I think I might just frame the insert sleeves and replace them with the ones I use to replace all old/paper sleeves.
Stand out tracks for me: “A Lannister Always Pays his Debts”, “You Know Nothing”, “Kingslayer”, “Mhysa”, and “Dracarys”.
The vinyl looks incredible. Been looking for this red limited edition for a long time, and was happy I was able to obtain it. Highly recommended vinyl and definitely a must listen.

The score has the signature Djawadi sound. Based off the liner notes it sounds like his score to Clash Of The Titans got him this job so it seems that he stays in that soundscape. The music never acts too boldly, but it commands a certain presences when it's there. Djawadi adds a certain amount of unique instrumental flavors and textures to give an ever so slight ethnic feel. The score can't feel too familiar, but it shouldn't feel like it comes from any particular region since the story and location are all fictitious. It's always hard to compress a season's worth of score onto one CD, but I feel the album does give a good representation of the flow. In my personal opinion I would have liked to see music play a bigger role in the series than it does. Then again LOST may have spoiled me where I expect every episodic drama to be wall to wall music. I'm not saying the score is bad, but I think in the grand scheme of the season it lacks a certain "oomph". The main title motif is strong and Djawadi does reference it now and again throughout the season, but maybe I felt like I needed more themes. Nonetheless the score is fantastic and adds an immense layer of depth to this already impressive series.
The music is great and the score's function is really important for this series. Djawadi delivers a very worthy musical soundscape even if I personally would have liked it to be a bit more thematic and present overall. Then again I can understand the pressures of writing this amount of music in such a short period. He should get nominated for an Emmy at least for the theme because it's quite fantastic. I'm looking forward to where the music will go in the next season because I think there will be huge areas to expand on.
It was definitely a worthy buy. I haven't seen the series recently enough to remember what each track goes with, but they're named well enough to clue you in and it still is a great score to listen to all the way through and some stand out above the rest. You can hear the basic melody of the main title music being used throughout, but I think that's what makes it all tie together nicely in the end. Still, Goodbye Brother doesn't borrow anything from the main title, but is one of my favorite tracks, carrying with it a lot of the unspoken emotions you see when Robb and Jon say goodbye to each other forever. Finale is really fantastic. It makes you want to go watch the last episode again right there.
The sound at times really reminds me of the Battlestar Galactica score. I think these are mostly the Daenaerys tracks.
If you're a fan of scores and of the show, this is well worth the money. I listen to this quite a bit at home and at work.

I highly recommend this CD to any and all Game of Thrones fans - and - to those that not have the opportunity to view on television - you will love the music....
