Direct fit for WFW8300SW03 Whirlpool Duet Washer
This door bellow is a direct fit for WFW8300SW03 Whirlpool Duet Washer. The original bellow couldn't hold a seal and would leak from the bottom onto the floor. Decided to dig in and replace some other things when the drum was exposed as well. The replacement is pretty straight forward with the most difficult part being the installation of the ring (with spring) back onto the front. Helps to have an extra hand. Found the best way was to clamp the ring near it's spring with vice grips, use my hand to push most of it on, and finally pull to the right as close to the washer face as I could. Doing this helped so the rest of the ring wouldn't pop out when re-installing. Be sure the bellow is in the correct orientation (drain holes at bottom) before even attempting to install the spring. Washer is back to new again. Would highly recommend!Pros: - Direct replacement for WFW8300SW03 - Slightly larger drain holes than my original - Rubber is nice and thick and should last a long timeCons: - Only con is the difficulty with reinstalling the spring and getting the outer seal correct

Item delivered and works as described. I used it to replace the door seal on a Maytag Epic Z. Housewife here. I attempted to install this by myself. I found a YouTube video for this exact part number. It was a little more involved than I anticipated. I was able to easily take apart the washer and remove the old seal. The hardest part was getting the new seal on initially. My husband had to help. It’s a little easier with two sets of hands who can hold it in place while working the rest around the opening. After we got it on initially, I took over the rest and had no problems putting on the clamp and spring, as well as putting the washer back together. I just ran a test wash and had no leaks!

Arrived quickly. It was in a fairly large box and not deformed. There is tab to mark the top center. I had watched Youtube videos on how to change the gasket several times before ordering. Removal of the door and old gasket was quick. Installing the new gasket was easy on drum side The door side took several tries, lots of frustration, and four hands (most difficult part, takes some effort and patience). Once on, the door works well and is snug.

A job that most folks could do.

Fits my Kenmore HE2 perfect, did install myself. This bellow dose not differ from OEM/original bellow - DIY took 1.5 hours. I ended up taking off top cover, front door w/cover, switch board, and detergent dispenser off my unit. What I did is unnecessary and you can get this done in 30 minutes or less - You will need Spring Clamp Removal tool (helps with installation of front spring-clamp) and flexible-shaft screwdriver to reach inner clamp screw on the left side of the door opening "9 o'clock", none of the covers will need to come off your washer if you get this flex-shaft screwdriver - Trust Me!!!

After trying to patch several tears in my old washer gasket/boot and still having leaks, I decided to admit defeat and replace it. This was less than half the price of the OEM part and is indistinguishable from my old one. Replacing the old gasket/boot is NOT straightforward if you don't know what you're doing. I am not an appliance repair tech, so proceed at your own risk but here's some bonus easy-peasy steps for a Kenmore HE unit (Whirlpool will be similar):
0. Unplug washer and slide it forward 8-10" to allow access to the rear screws for the top panel.
1. Remove the lower access panel - 3 sheet metal screws w/ 1/4" hex heads (below the panel)
2. Remove the top panel - 3 sheet metal screws w/ 1/4" hex heads (on the back of the washer) then slide panel rearwards and lift off
3. Remove the detergent drawer - pull open, then depress the release tab and pull the drawer out
4. Remove the control panel - 1 Torx head screw (next to where the detergent drawer was, T20 head size)
5. Remove the control panel - follow the electrical cable from the control panel to the right side terminal block and detach the cable from the block (lift the locking tab on the block and pull the cable plug rearward)
6. Remove the control panel - depress the tab on the right side of the panel, then wiggle and pull the top of the panel forward and down. Feed cable out and set control panel aside.
7. Release the outer spring clamp - look on the bottom of the rubber boot where it clamps to the front panel of the washer. You'll see a spring holding the two ends of the clamp tight. Use a small screwdriver or other rigid tool to hook the clamp loop and pull it to the side and then towards you. Remove clamp and pull rubber boot off the lip of the front panel
8. Remove front panel - 4 sheet metal screws w/ 1/4" heads (one at each corner of front panel)
9. Remove rubber boot - loosen inner clamp that secures the boot to the washer tub using # 2 Phillips screwdriver. Remove clamp and pull boot free.
While you've got everything open, check the hoses going from the detergent module into the tub - one attaches to the top of the tub, the other to the front left of the tub. Dirt and debris might be causing some leakage, so detach both hoses and clean them if anything looks damp or dirty (slip joint pliers will allow you to easily release the spring clamp on the end of each hose). Assembly is just the reverse of these steps. Make sure you position the inner boot clamp away from the detergent hose so it doesn't damage the hose. Getting the outer spring clamp back on the front panel can be tricky but there's a special tool that makes it a piece of cake. Search for "washing machine spring expansion tool" and that should give you what you need. A little bit of soap also helps slide the new gasket onto the retaining lips on the tub and the front panel.
Reassemble in reverse order, but plug in the washer to check that the control panel works before sealing everything all the way up. Clear as mud, right? Have fun - you can do this!
p.s. My leaks were coming from the top hose where it goes into the tub. So apparently I learned how to do this just so I could teach you...

You will save about $70 buying this seal versus ordering the official version from Whirlpool directly. Watching internet videos and possessing an abundance of patience are both key. It was shipped in a small box, so the seal was folded in on itself. I struggled for several hours trying to get the inner seal mounted. Taking all the panels off was by far the easiest part of the job. As others have mentioned, washing it in warm water and stretching it out seemed to help. I literally had to use my feet to keep pressure on it in places while mounting in others with my hands. The online videos do not demonstrate this special technique I was forced to adopt. I ran the washer, and it held water very well; no leaks. I had to press the door closed so the lock would engage, but I expect that to go away as the seal is broken in.

I suggest that this seal should ship in a larger box so that it doesn't arrive folded, which complicates installation.

5.0 out of 5 stars It required 4 hands for us to install this.
Reviewed in Canada on June 20, 2023
It has some memory from how it was packaged but still fit nicely. I found out that I could remove the front cover and replace this without removing the stacked dryer on top. It was tricky to install the last bit as it kept on slipping. It took 2 of us. One held the part that was already fitted so it didn't slide and the other slid the rest around quite easily. It wasn't hard. It just required something ir someone to hold it. It has been working well ever since.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rather put this on again vs buying a new washer!
Reviewed in Canada on September 21, 2022
Both tricky and easy to install, watch all of the videos first and have some strength. Fits perfect and doesn’t leak like the old one. Just make sure you center it before you start putting it back on!
Make sure you use some dawn dishsoap to make it easier to go on.
Would buy again if needed… would never buy a front load washing machine again though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kenmore MOD 110.46462501 Replacement
Reviewed in Canada on August 30, 2022
Was a perfect fit/replacement for the old dirty/starting to mold boot for a 13+ year old washer.

The install was... a bit of swearing and struggling but Dish Soap as lubricant and an extra set of hands that don't move around definitely helped with the install

the Seal definitely is less pliable then the older one (with reason considering it is new seal). Unlike others, I have not experienced leakage at all. Ensure your seal clamps are on tight and installed appropriately, ensure the drain ports are at the bottom as well before finalizing it all.
