The search is OVER!
After going through 9 phones, all of which were complete failures, except this one! I can finally put away my old, old Uniden cordless phone!My Uniden served me well! Great phone, still works but age has worn it down, like age does to our own bodies. Three number buttons on the Uniden keypad just do not want to work anymore so I had to find a replacement. Had no idea this was going to set me on a long frustrating phone journey! To cut to the chase I saw these Vtech Careline SN6187 online at my local KMART. Sorry Amazon! But this time they beat your price by far! I guess they are cleaning out inventory but I got this system for only 16.00 while supplies last! Can't beat that! So I bought two of them and bought another for my mom who is 93. This phone is A.W.E.S.O.M.E. what more can I say! Set up is easy, sets up on its own really. Check this out, I pick up the pendant this morning and it says, "Good Morning," How awesome is that?! A phone that communicates with you! The best part yet, where all other phones I tried has failed, is you can HEAR out of it! Did I just say that? I didn't think I would ever be able to say that again with these cheap cordless phones they are trying to sell us out there! But here it is, crystal clear, knock on wood! A solid cordless phone, does not feel cheap! The base is solid as well! Can there be improvements? Of course, such as since it is geared towards Seniors the handheld phone could have a slip guard so you can better grip it. The base and the cordless phone/pendant could have a more louder ring. The pendant should have a higher volume on it since many elderly can't hear as well. And who knows, I haven't checked out Vtech's higher pricey Careline phone systems so maybe they did address these issues but as for me I am satisfied! The search is finally over! I only got the phones yesterday and they had to charge overnight so just used the cordless phone this morning on a full charge and listen, in all honesty, these are it people! They may be the last of the good ones so don't hesitate! They are so worth it! We pick up the ones we bought for my mom today, I can't wait to set it all up for her! I am planning to buy the extra handset for sure! I will update later when I have had the phones for awhile! Goodbye faithful Uniden, Hello Vtech Careline!
