Stay Safe and Comfortable while Showering

Medline's Bath Chair

Bath chairs assist individuals who have difficulty sitting in a standard bath tub or standing in the shower while allowing them a safe place to sit while bathing. The Medline Bath Chair is ideal for individuals who have limited back strength or balance.

Featuring a corrosion-resistant durable aluminum frame, the bath chair also has non-slip angled legs to increase stability, and push-button height adjustment to ensure maximum comfort.

Tip:

Before purchasing this bath chair, measure the inside width of the bathtub floor to make sure the chair legs fit. The tub floor should measure a min of 19 inch wide to properly accommodate the bench. The bath seat is most stable when the bottom of the chair’s legs sit on the bottom of the tub—not on the angled sides of the bathtub walls.

  • Durable aluminum frame is corrosion resistant
  • Limited lifetime warranty on frame
  • Built-in hand grips
  • Durable anodized aluminum frame is rust resistant
  • Seat height adjusts from 14.5 - 19.5"
  • 250-lb. weight capacity

Bath Chair Features

My order was incomplete. As you see in the picture the screws for putting this together was not included. The bag had a hole in it. Since I now have to go out and find the screws for it. I needed this chair to help with bathing a sick husband. I was really forward set it up and use it. I think I should be compensated for this extra stress by the missing pieces which added to my stress.Rafaela. After further investigation of the pieces. I realized I was mistaken. All pieces arrived.

I had back surgery twice in the last two weeks. Physical therapy gave me a long list of instructions and recommended equipment to buy. A shower chair was high on that list. After perusing the available options on Amazon (I wanted it quickly), I came upon this chair. I am so glad I decided to purchase it. It came in two days and according to my husband, who assembled it, it was relatively simple to do. It is extremely solid and fits perfectly in my shower. The suction cups on each leg actually attach well to a slight angle (that of a bathtub), but would also work fine on a flat surface. It is fairly lightweight (I am limited to lifting 5 lbs) and I am capable of lifting it in and out of the shower if need be. My husband actually takes it in and out every time he takes a shower (and hasn't complained a bit!). This is a great option for those who could use some stability during their showers, or are unable to bend/twist/or stretch. It is comfortable, water drains well off the seat through the holes, and it is very well made. I would recommend it to anyone, especially at $33! I went by the pharmacy the other day and noted that the very cheaply made, solid plastic shower chairs were a minimum of $55!! Buy yours here!

I bought this shower chair for my 90-year-old mother. I was looking for a sturdy shower chair for her. I found the lowest price for it on Amazon.com (about $35), but beware, elsewhere on Amazon.com they have the same chair but titled differently, with a price around $55.

I had the chair delivered to her apartment (which is over 2000 miles from me) and it arrived in the promised time-frame, so I was happy with delivery. My mother's aid put the chair together by herself. My mother says it is an excellent chair, very sturdy, with the seat and back-support very comfortable. She was glad to get the chair without any armrests because this chair allows for easy arm and body movement.

All-in-all, this chair is not only extremely useful for my mother, but also well worth the $35 we spent on it.

The shower chair was difficult to put together. I've never had so many problems with following instructions before. It comes with different depths of screws and the screws it requests you use for certain pieces just don't seem to fit. The legs were the trickiest, you've got to get them to cross just right and get the screws in. Otherwise it's an ok chair.

I would say it's too large if you've got a tub. We have a rectangular shower only unit in our bathroom and this thing is clunky even for such a large space. It's difficult to maneuver around and lets face it, one position won't work for everything! If you want to wash your body it's got to be forward facing, then you have to reverse it to properly wash your hair. It's not impossible, but expect to get at least a little water on your bathroom floor while making the transition. If you've got a tub I do not think it would fit. I would be sure to measure it before purchase.

I visited several big box retail stores in search of a shower chair. I should note that this was something I absolutely hating having to purchase. I have MS and my balance has gone downhill recently, so this was an unfortunate must. What I found were large, ugly, "clunky" looking white PVC material chairs. I imagined them becoming discolored and covered in mildew very quickly. I decided to check out Amazon, and found this chair for less than 1/2 the price. It was very easy to assemble. It's sturdy, lightweight and easy to move via the handle on the backrest. I now feel secure in my shower, and I no longer have legs that resemble a Sasquatch. My husband and I both thank you Medline.

I don't think this chair is a bath chair. It doesn't fit in my bathtub and the feet lie flat on a level surface. The feet extend 23" to the sides which is wider than the seat, 20". My old chair had feet 19" wide and worked well. The tub bottom is only 20" wide so the chair won't even stand on the bottom properly. They shouldn't sell a chair that is too wide for a standard tub.

The front and back feet are only 13" apart which makes it seem unstable. If I were a big person, I wouldn't try just flopping down on it.

I'm certain the chair was assembled properly since there are grooves in the seat bottom where the legs are to be placed. I have a similar chair in my guest bathroom that has the same seat back and seat. It's legs are 18" wide and works well in the tub. There's a large distance between the front and back legs which give it a nice solid feel of support.

I was definitely shocked when the new chair wouldn't even fit the tub. No one else mentioned this problem.

I bought this for my dad for when I take him to his Military reunions. When we book a hotel, 90% of the time we are told the hotel doesn't have more than 2 shower chairs, which I find hard to believe. After being told this twice I decided to solve the issue with purchasing one just to that reason. This chair is super easy to take apart and reassemble and doesn't take up much room at all. It fits comfortably in hotel showers and is easy to clean and dry before packing up again. Compared to other places, Amazon had the best prices of them all.
