Product Description

The batterylock system on a Coleman Divide+ 225L LED headlamp stops battery drain, so you'll have the power you need when you need it most. On a normal headlamp, there is typically some residual drain as long as the battery is connected in the Circuit, even when the light is off. With a simple pull on the front of the face, you can completely disengage your batteries, so they can be stored in your headlamp for years (up to their inherent shelf life). you'll also reduce the toxic corrosion that can damage your headlamp. Using your headlamp is as easy as protecting it. Just slip on the fully-adjustable head strap and use the single-button to easily cycle through five modes - high and low spot to see off in the distance, high and low flood to view a wide area, and a red mode for night vision. No matter the situation, from power outages to roadside emergencies, a headlamp with the batterylock system is ready, even when you aren't.

Great Headlamp, Although not as Described
The headlamp itself is great. It has all the functions I want on a headlamp, and super bright. The headlamp I received is not even close to what is pictured though. I was expecting the pretty blue accents like what is in the photo, but what I got is an all black and grey one. It would get 5 stars if I just got what I thought I was ordering.

This light is fantastic! Since purchasing it I have used it on campouts, removing slivers, around the house, and any other time I can find to put it on. I quite like that once you have clicked through to the setting you want, you don't have to click through the rest to turn it off; it turns off with the next click. It doesn't feel too heavy. It has multiple downward adjustments that hold their position. i have been very impressed so far.

Works well for running and for biking at night. It's small enough that the single strap keeps the light snug and not bouncing on my forehead when I run, and it fits under a helmet when I ride. The brightest setting is super bright, and it's fantastic for actually seeing what's in front of me when running or riding: I've never so easily avoided potholes, puddles, and debris at night until getting this headlamp. I also feel safer with it on a bright setting, knowing that cars really have no option but to take notice of that bright light.

The "no battery drain" setting is an interesting feature. I'm sure it keeps the batteries fresher for longer, however, it's activated by pulling the front of the light away from the back of the light, effectively making the entire lamp portion a quarter-inch deeper (in the photo, you can see a red band around the lamp: that's the inner portion of the lamp housing, exposed by pulling the two halves apart to activate this setting). For as much pressure required to pull the two halves apart, they go back together relatively easily, and I've often found the lamp is no longer in the "no drain" mode when I pull it out of my bag where it's stored during daylight. Not the worst design flaw by far, but a harder-to-accidentaly-toggle switch or knob might have been a wiser choice. It doesn't affect the usefulness of the headlamp, though, unless you are specifically considering this headlamp because of that feature.

The Coleman Divide+ headlamp is a good headlamp but with some issues for me. There are 5 light settings; the first red, the remaining white in varying beamwidths and intensities. With the headlamp off pressing the power button once turns on the red, night vision lamp; pressing the power button four more times cycles through the white light settings until the lamp is powered off. If the lamp is left in one setting (say red) for greater than 5 seconds the next press turns the lamp off. I am not sure I like this because fat fingering the power button will move the lamp from red to white and ruin the night vision of everyone around you. The lamp uses 3 AAA batteries; 3 Duracell batteries are provided. The battery replacement instructions says to use the headband attachment clip as a pry bar to open the battery case. It was easier to just get a screwdriver and open it that way. The front and rear of the headlamp can be slightly pulled apart to disconnect the batteries from the lamp circuitry. This will reduce the trickle current that discharges the batteries when the lamp is not in use. This is one of my biggest problems with the headlamp - it has a fancy battery consumption circuit that separates the shell - I would rather have a closed shell that was water tight (IPX4) and have to change batteries more often. The packaging does not say if the headlamp is regulated or not; my guess is yes based on the time/light emission table. The headband is adjustable and can be done so rather easily. Upshot. For the same amount of money you can get a headlamp that is relatively water tight and can withstand sitting at the bottom of a puddle for an hour or two.

Used daily for 3 months while doing mechanical and demolition work in a naval shipyard. The lamp is holding up very well and power consumption is far more efficient than other headlamps Ive used. The flood light feature is EXACTLY what Ive been needing!! Only downside is the headband, while comfortable, seems too light-duty for the work i do and is starting to fray. Not a major concern as it's easy to replace if i ever need to.

I should have waited and bought locally. I had another brand for several years and was much more compact. When it broke, I bought this one. It is bright, I'll give it that, but you have to cycle past the red glow to get to plain light ... every time. The first option should be plain light. For now, it'll do, but I'll be buying another one that has been more thought out on the everyday use. Disappointed, to say the least.
