BrushThe brush is OK. I'm not sure it's any better or worse than another inexpensive brush I've bought from another brand. It's on the softer side and I've easily been able to whip up a good lather with both cream and semi-soft tallow soap. The initial smell of the brush was pretty terrible, but the smell quickly faded after a couple uses with shave soap. After a week of use it smells great.BowlAs a shave bowl this isn't good. It's way too small. You can make a decent lather, but it get's messy fast. I've ended up using it as an attractive way to hold lotion or cologne samples. It could also be a good travel bowl. It's not very good for it's intended purpose, but is useful and versatile.ConclusionI got this at a discounted price, and at that price, it was a great deal. The brush has worked well and the bowl has come in handy. If you are looking for a brush and a small shave or multi-purpose bowl you might be happy with this set. If you are looking for a traditional shave bowl or a bowl to hold your soap look elsewhere.

Nice bowl construction, it has a brushed nickle finish. The brush is soft, has a small knot that isn't as tightly packed as others. I have seen others mention picking badger hair out of their lather and that is true - a few hairs the first few uses do come out. Not a big deal. The brush holds lather well and it works for my sensitive skin. If you like what I wrote - buy it and love it as I do!

The brush and bowl are great for building up a lather and it cleans really easily afterwards. My only complaint is that the bristles tend to fall out. Under no circumstances should you buy this item. It was on sale when I purchased it and was just getting into the world of DE razors, so i figured why not. Unfortunately, I didn't need the warnings in the reviews.
The bowl is so small that you cannot create a lather and the brush is so flimsy that even with a larger bowl you still couldn't create a lather. Lose-lose. Skip this brush, you will have to buy another one anyways so why waste your money on this one? It's not just frustrating to use, it's quite literally impossible to use.
