Had to buy this thermostat after I used the self cleaning feature on my oven. Read online that it is a common problem that the oven will shut off and lock during the self clean and will not turn back on. Super easy to install. My model is GW395LEPS03. Unplug the oven first then remove the metal backing from the oven (two pieces held on by around a dozen small screws). The replacement part looks exactly like the broken part. Remove the two wires connecting the part and unscrew the two screws holding it in, screw in the new part and connect the wires and voila oven works again. I looked online and saw the part for about $10 cheaper but the website had horrible reviews. I looked around at my local stores and it was going for around $60-80 so i decided to buy it from amazon and am really happy that I did. Dont waste your money on a repair man. Easy do-it-yourself job.

We were selling our home and our 6 yr old Kitchen Aid stove decided to break in every wap possible 4 days before the home inspection after using the self cleaning feature for the very first time. After much research on what too do, we ordered this part. The supplier was great! We received it quickly and was able to fix the stove right away. Funny, because I never knew Amazon to sell anything other then media products like books, videos, etc., so this worked out great!

Whirlpool needs to fix this component. Everyone knows that they cannot use the self-cleaning function on their oven because this part will always fail.

Bought this part after being faced with the common problem of KitchenAid ovens (my model is KGSA906PSS00) shutting down during the self cleaning process. The oven door remained locked and the digital control panel was completely off. The thermostat was simple to replace. I slid the oven away from the wall, turned off the gas valve and unplugged the power cord. I removed the panel from the back of the stove (about 10 screws) and after doing so, the thermostat was immediately visible. To remove the old thermostat, you simply unplug the 2 terminals from both ends and remove the 2 screws that attach the thermostat to the back of the oven and install the new one using the same steps in reverse. I plugged in the oven and presto -- the oven door unlocked and the control panel turned on.

I bought this after my Kitchen Aid gas oven suffered the fate that so many others have during the cleaning cycle. It went blank, the door stayed locked, and nothing worked except for the gas burners on the stove top. I've seen reports of repair companies charging $300 to fix this, but it's an incredibly easy part to replace yourself, and to get it for $34 in less than a week was great. Appreciate it!
