The Story Behind the Model
AT-AT stands for All Terrain Armored Transport. The imposing Walker is made by the Imperial Ministry of Defense. This 60 km/h armored vehicle is used for ground assaults, including attacking the rebel base on the ice planet Hoth. Its heavy armor makes it almost impossible for conventional weapons to damage an AT-AT. Their unstoppable lumbering approach has fatal consequences for soldiers, as its feet can squash heavy material without difficulty. The psychological effect alone is often sufficient to decide the outcome of the battle. Originally designed as a troop transport, the AT-AT is also used extensively as a combat vehicle. The heavy armament on the head, that fires devastating laser cannon, covers an extensive field of fire as the head sweeps in all directions. The all-terrain armored transport is set down on planets and picked up by large landing craft that keep well away from the combat zone. In the battles on Hoth, the Snowspeeders proved to be effective opponents, capable of knocking out several AT-ATs.
Helpful Hints For Building
Your AT-AT is a Level 1 kit - it's perfect for anyone new to model kit building, as well as experienced builders. Always study the assembly drawings included in the packaging before beginning. Each plastic part is identified by a part number. This kit may be snapped together, but for extra stability, you may want to cement or glue the parts as well. Trimming to remove extra plastic and filing to smooth before part assembly is suggested.
