Margaret Tylczak began her study of art at Evergreen Elementary School in Shelton, WA and continued it whenever and where ever she could. She has developed her own style, which she calls "dog fauvism" for which she gives most of the credit to her beloved Jack and her unwillingness to paint anything the way other people see it. The titles of her paintings stand out as distinctly as her bold and unusual choices of colors, often summing up current culture, life on the Island of Vashon WA, or life with a dog. The result is dogs painted in colors not found in nature or even in the natural order of things, all with their own story to tell.
