Lake & Palmer Emerson
Formed in 1970, Emerson, Lake & Palmer were torchbearers of the progressive rock sound and one of rock’s first super-groups. The world-conquering, stadium-filling prog giants helped to broaden the audience for the genre from hundreds of thousands into tens of millions and were one the most commercially successful rock bands of the 1970s. Their first 7 album releases all made the U.K. albums chart top 10 and U.S. top 20. 'Love Beach' (1978) is the final ELP studio album from the 1970s classic era, expertly remastered for the first time in 24 bit / High Density formats from the original tapes. The LP finds the band back to their intimate best - producing a lighter, more concise and accessible album, with the band jamming in the relaxed atmosphere of a studio in Nassau, Bahamas. As usual, ELP produced an excellent, technically accomplished mix of classical music and electronics, once again unearthing their extraordinary musical chemistry. Includes fans' / live favourites 'The Gambler' and the rockin' 'Canario' (based on Rodrigo's 'Fantasia Para Un Gentilhombre'). Side 2 is taken up by the superb 'Memoirs Of An Officer And A Gentleman' - one of their finest suites, highlighting voice, piano, and marching drums...
