The Pitsco 38336 Laser-Cut Basswood T-Bot II Hydraulic Arm with Teacher's Guide includes the 34110 T-Bot II Hydraulic Arm and Pitsco 59727 T-Bot II Teacher's Guide by Tim Cannell (ISBN: 1-58651-926-3), which provides instructions, lesson plans, worksheets, tests, puzzles, and resource pages for teaching science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) activities based on the T-Bot II hydraulic arm project. The T-Bot II kit provides students in grades 6-12 a hands-on activity to build a hydraulic robot that demonstrates the scientific concepts of axes and levers, force, and Newton's laws of motion. It includes laser-cut basswood parts required to build the robot and syringes and clear plastic tubing for implementing four hydraulic controls, as well as wood dowels, screws, O-rings, nylon spacers, a plastic straw, hook-and-loop fastener, a rubber band, a resealable plastic bag, and instructions. The T-Bot II illustrates how axes and levers work for students studying simple machines, and it demonstrates hydraulic power and simple robotics for students studying mechanical concepts. The kit reinforces engineering, technology, and math concepts as students build and test a hydraulic robot. The finished T-Bot II measures 12 inches at its tallest point.

The teacher's guide includes six lessons with separate activities for grades 6-8 and 9-12. Students learn STEM concepts including the Cartesian coordinate system, simple machines, basic programming, mechanical advantage, and electromagnetism through the provided lessons and hands-on activities. The guide addresses how the lessons and activities meet standards set by the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA), and the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE). The 105-page guide is paperback and spiral-bound for ease of use. A hydraulic robot kit and an accompanying teacher's guide are typically used in an educational setting to demonstrate mechanics, robotics, and physics through hands-on activities and lesson plans.

Construction requires a screwdriver, scissors, a glue gun and glue slugs, and white glue (all sold separately). The T-Bot II can be mounted on the 34106 T-Bot II Base (sold separately).

Science education products incorporate applied math and science principles into classroom and homeschool-based projects. Teachers in pre-K, elementary, and secondary classrooms use science education kits and products alongside science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum to demonstrate STEM concepts and real-world applications through hands-on activities. Science education projects include a broad range of activities, such as practical experiments in engineering, aeronautics, robotics, energy, chemistry, physics, biology, and geology.

Pitsco Education develops K-12 science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum, educational kits, and classroom tools. The company, founded in 1971, is headquartered in Pittsburg, KS.
