The Chubby is one of the more iconic designs from Simpsons, and is a fine example of a handmade and densely packed Simpsons brush. One of the finest shaving brush models still in production, it is available in Super, Best, and was one of the first Simpson models to be filled with synthetic badger, after a long process of finding a suitable quality supply. This version is the mid-size (CH2), standing at 95mm (3 and 0.75 inches) tall, and filled with Simpsons Super grade badger, a True Silvertip badger fiber. The combination of the softest most luxurious grade of badger hair with the legendary density of Simpsons' knots gives an incredibly gentle brush that still has plenty of backbone to lather soaps and creams alike. A true shaving connoisseur's brush, this is an excellent choice whether you are adding to a collection of luxury products or are too poor to buy cheap. Founded in 1919 by Alexander Simpson, with premises in London's East End, Simpsons quickly became popular for their high-end shaving brushes. The company has changed location three times since then, once due to expansion, once due to a German bombing raid during the war, and most recently from the mainland UK to the Isle of Man after their acquisition by brushmaker Progress Vulfix. As the only other brushmaker in the UK with the expertise to produce hand work of Simpsons standard, Vulfix's acquisition of the brand has generally been seen in a positive light, and in recent years the standard of Simpsons brushes has continued to meet and exceed expectations. Simpsons shaving brushes are probably the best in the world. Handmade on the Isle of Man (British Isles)
